Two thirds of foreigners that vacationed in Bulgaria this year plan a repeat visit in '06, shows a poll of 200 non-native holiday-makers conducted by credit card company Visa International in late August. Just over 5% of respondents said they took a weekend trip to Bulgaria while 54% spent between 11 and 21 days here. Two thirds of the informants vacationing on the coast said they had no intention to explore the inland. Bulgaria is seen primarily as a destination for family vacations with singles making up less than 10% of all respondents. Over 55% of respondents said they chose Bulgaria because it was a cheap option. More than 70% of respondents said they eat out during their stay in Bulgaria but only 5% of them use their credit cards due to the fact that they are accepted by a limited number of restaurant or otherwise establishments. Over 80% of informants said their vacation in Bulgaria was pre-packaged by a tour operator with only 20% opting to self-organise their trip. |
